La Grande

February 26, 2012

After having been to a wonderful concert by singer-songwriter Laura Gibson in January, her new album La Grande has been my constant companion for many a long morning bus-ride through London, as well as for many a quiet winter evening spent at home knitting. So, of course my next finished project had to be named in honour of the album, and in honour of the song shown above.

PatternMillwater Cowl by Beth Kling
Yarn: Cascade Yarns 220 Heathers [Colour: 2433]
Needles: 6 mm
[More project details on Ravelry]

It was a fun and fast knit, very much fun because of the combination of the squishy garter stich-ing and mad cable-ing, and very fast because of the worsted yarn on 6 mm needles. The Cascade Yarn is a very nice basic yarn, nothing too fancy or too exciting, but soft and lovely enough to make this cowl a joy to wear. The design is very, very clever and I am sure I will get a lot of wear out of this.

We had lovely days in Vienna so far, meeting friends for dinner, breakfast and coffee [thank you all for making time for me!], and are off now for another dinner in lovely company. Have a good Sunday evening, too!

  2. I love everything about this cowl! The colour and texture. Beautiful. I think I might have to overcome my aversion for cables….
