Olive [and] Celery

August 1, 2010

I have been busy  transforming those lovely, emerald-coloured skeins of soft Colinette Jitterbug into a lovely little cardigan:

Olive [and] Celery

Pattern: Celery by Veera Välimäki [available on Ravelry]
Yarn: Colinette Jitterbug [colour: 114 Velvet Olive]
Needles: 4mm
[More Project details on Ravelry]

I had the pleasure to knit this as a test-knit for Veera over at 100% rain. She is one of my favorite knitwear designers ever, and  her ability to create simple yet sophisticated garments amazes me continuously. I especially adore the thoughtful details she always adds to her designs, such as for example the short row shaped buttonbands that give this cardigan its unique silhouette, or this sweet little stockinette ‘seam’ at the sleeves’ garter stitch bands:

All in all, a very lovely little garment that will get quite a lot of wear…

Olive [and] Celery

We are enjoying our Sunday afternoon at [c]’s parents’ place who live an hour’s drive from Vienna. They have a big garden with a beautiful swimming pond – the perfect scenery for relaxing and doing some further knitting…

Have a lovely Sunday, too!
